Cozy At Home: Day 29
I spent a lot of time on my computer. A lot. Whether I am emailing, writing, researching or organizing and editing pictures, I am on my computer probably more than I should be. While I made the switch to a laptop a few years back, I still use a computer mouse nearly every time I sit down to compute.
Until last week, my mouse was boring and bland, and the only really positive things I can say about it is that it was wireless and had a scroll wheel. Other than that, it was too small for my hand, too cumbersome to use, and made my wrists hurt when I had one of those marathon photoshop sessions. But, last week the Smartfish ErgoMotion Mouse arrived on my doorstep and is now my mouse of choice.
If you haven’t heard of the Smartfish ErgoMotion Mouse before, here’s what you need to know: The ErgoMotion Laser Mouse from Smartfish Technologies is essentially a slightly larger than normal computer mouse that is mounted on a unique pivot base. It’s this pivot base that makes using it so more fluid and smooth than other mice. While this isn’t really a big deal for word documents and spreadsheet use, for photo editing and designing, this is a huge plus.
I mistakenly thought it would take my quite a while to get used to the ErgoMotion Mouse and that it would be really easy to accidentally click on things but was really surprised when I took to it so quickly. In fact, I completely forgot I was testing out a mouse until my husband asked what I thought of it a few hours later. He was shocked when I reported that I really loved it, and in fact it had completely replaced my old mouse for good.
Besides the fact that it fits nicely in my hand and the pivoting base moves easily and naturally with my movements, the ErgoMotion Mouse also has those two features I actually did like about my old mouse – the scroll wheel and the fact that it is wireless. Even better was that the scroll wheel and wireless functions are far improved from my old model.
In addition to the typical scroll wheel, the ErgoMotion Mouse also has 4-way scrolling which allows you to scroll up and down and side to side, a feature that is absolutely essential for all my spreadsheet use. It also has a teeny, tiny little receiver that allows the mouse to transmit wirelessly, which means you don’t have a huge transmitter sticking out from your USB drive which gets in the way of your mouse use and is difficult when traveling. Even better is that the transmitter actually fits into the indent underneath the pivoting base of the ErgoMotion so you don’t lose it in your laptop bag.
If you're on the computer all day like I am and find yourself sore each night, or if you're just fed up with your boring old mouse, it would definitely be worth it for you to check out the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse by Smartfish this holiday season.
